International airport of the city of Samarkand

Today I want to tell you about one interesting and complex foreign project that we implemented at the beginning of last year.
We are talking about the international airport of the city of Samarkand named after Mirzo Ulugbek, Republic of Uzbekistan.

For him, the company “BashGroup” carried out the production and installation of designer cladding of metal columns, wall panels and perforated acoustic panels in various interesting designs.

It was incredibly difficult to conclude this contract for a number of reasons.
» First, it is generally difficult to work abroad. We had experience of working at relatively small facilities in the Republic of Uzbekistan, and both architects and customers already knew us. But nevertheless, when the designers and production are located in one country, and the object is in another, this always complicates certain workflows somewhat.
» Secondly, we faced a really difficult design task: we had to make columns made of thick metal with interesting design prismatic elements, while the final cost of all work had to remain competitive.
» Thirdly, it follows that there are really strong competitors. The customer also considered manufacturers of ceilings and metal panels from Turkey.

We managed to win this tender largely due to the high customer orientation of our company. A lot of work was done even before the conclusion of the contract, we had to meet many requirements: quality, timing, price …
I personally flew to the facility, personally communicated with the general contractor, offered various technical solutions for various components. Our designers quickly developed 3D models, we made and demonstrated samples, and as a result, the contract was ours!

The company “BashGroup” for Samarkand International Airport completed the cladding of metal columns along the main facade line, developed units for cladding double columns, produced and installed autistic panels inside the building, in the ticket office area. In total, about 11 trucks with various products were sent to the site.
Our specialists trained teams and organized the entire installation process for 2 weeks. All these are rather dry facts, behind which there is a lot of work, a lot of emotions and an excellent result.

The airport has been operating for more than a year. In 2022, the SCO BRICS summit was held in the Republic of Uzbekistan. Samarkand was visited by a large number of guests, and the graceful appearance of the airport was appreciated by them.

I am very proud that the BashGroup team was involved in the implementation of the incredibly beautiful design of the building both outside and inside. For us, participation in this project was a pretty high bar, and I’m glad that we did it perfectly.
The chief architect of the airport building said that he was very impressed with our approach to work, and also that our product is really one of the best that have been used in this project.
